We decided to take a different approach with this beautiful home in Falconhead. In a neighborhood where most front yards follow a similar pattern—lush lawns bordered by standard shrubs—we wanted to create something that stood out while still complementing the home’s natural beauty.
To break up the traditional lawn, we introduced black basalt rocks for added texture and contrast. We also planted a mix of large agave and smaller drought-tolerant plants, which bring bold structure and interest to the space. To enhance functionality and flow, we installed oversized limestone steps that guide you through the yard and tie the design together with a clean, modern touch.
These thoughtful upgrades not only give the home a unique curb appeal, but they also create low-maintenance zones that significantly reduce watering needs. The combination of striking stonework and hardy Texas plants results in a landscape that’s as practical as it is eye-catching.
